Miller Waste has over 50 years experience in the waste management & landscape materials sector and operates from 30 locations across Canada. We are currently hiring a Route Supervisor to join our team!

Responsibilities:

In the position of Route Supervisor, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the scheduling of routes; creating and modifying collection maps and areas; issue consistent progressive discipline when required. You will hold regular tailgate meetings with your crew; attend all accidents and property damage incidents and fill out applicable reports in a timely manner. You will enter daily productivity statistics and discuss results with drivers as well as record and time keeping. Ensure compliance with all Provincial and Miller Waste health and safety policies and procedures is a must. You will ensure the timely collection of residential materials and build positive employee relations. You will be effective at team building, while enforcing good Customer Service. You will also be the primary line of communication and contact with Municipal staff and must be comfortable in dealing with different levels of Municipal staff members.

Requirements:

Successful candidates will have a DZ license and a clean driving record. You have an excellent attendance and performance record as well as proven team building skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and good organizational skills are mandatory. Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook are a requirement for this position. The Supervisor must be available to work Saturdays when required as well as to help with the residential collection process from time-to-time by working on a collection truck. Preference will be given to those with previous experience in a supervisory role within the waste industry. The supervisor will have the use of a company pick-up truck and all policies with respect to the allowable usage of this company vehicle must be followed (i.e. The Company truck will be parked in the yard every night). Preference will be given to those who have a familiarity with the City of Ottawa and surrounding area.
